I recently downloaded Strava and for some reason the app will not remember that I have synced my fitbit. I am able to sync and connect my fitbit (versa lite) to Strava successfully, but whenever I quit the app and reopen it, it no longer shows that my fitbit is synced. (In Strava I go to Settings > Applications, Services, and Devices, and I connect a new device. It then later disappears). As a result none of the bikes/runs I track with my fitbit can sync to Strava. Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @molly_dyson. I am sorry for the delayed response.
I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the difficulty you're experiencing with the Strava app. Thank you for your efforts to resolve this and for providing the additional details. As you know, Strava exercises that are synced with Fitbit are labeled as a manually logged activity. Only GPS data recorded with a Fitbit device will be synced to the Strava app. I recommend following these troubleshooting steps:
- Verify that you don't have any pending updates for the Strava app in the Gallery
- Confirm you've linked both applications properly by following these steps
- Verify you have enabled all permissions in the Gallery
- Make sure you sync your device and wait a few moments for updates
You can also check Strava's own recommendations here.
Let me know how it goes.

Exactly the same issue with Inspire HR. Fitbit disappears from Strava and no way to see Strava as an approved application in Fitbit. Have done all the troubleshooting steps to no avail.

Miine is doing the same thing. Did anyone get a solution? It’s so annoying.

Thanks,
Would you believe that my Strava app loses connection to Fitbit when I close the app. However, when you open the Strava website it says I'm connected. My Fitbit webpage says im not connected. How do I connect to Strava in the Fitbit website?

I have exactly same issue with Versa 3 , starva keeps forgetting the Fitbit connection under apps

Same. I just got my versa 2 and for the life of me I cannot figure out why they keep losing connection. It’s very frustrating.

I ended up ringing support and they did a hard factory reset with me. Once that happened my phone would not even start up so they sent me a replacement. I would say my phone had some serious issues. The phone support was great and it took a while but I now have my replacement and just set it up.

I solved it by bailing on it and bought a Garmin Venu 😂

So far this is what I've done to try and solve the issue:
Removed Strava app from my phone and Fitbit.
Removed just the Strava app from Fitbit
Removed just the Strava app from iPhone
Hard reset on iPhone
Factory Restored Fitbit Versa 2 and re-did the setup process
Tried connecting Fitbit to macOS to try that way. Fitbit app on macOS won't work
Logged in and out of both accounts to no avail
So far this is what I've found out but I don't know if it has an issue to do with my wifi network. I'm pretty savvy when it comes to network stuff so here's what I found out:
Fitbit Versa 2 will not work, nor connect when your wifi system is just set up on a 5Ghz network. Now unfortunately since I live with my inlaws right now I can't change the internet to be dual banded to see if somehow having a wifi connection makes this better. (2.4ghz & 5ghz connection).
I can't rule one out just yet.
I really like this new watch I got to replace my apple watch series 2 but I'm getting to the point of returning it since it caused me so many headaches. Mostly with Strava to be honest. I know it isn't the most important thing but it is a little frustrating that a device made in 2020 cant handle a 5GHz network connection. At this point, I may leave it because I have literally tried everything. I don't think anythings wrong with my watch at all.
Let's see if anyone else has fixed this issue. I'm surprised as well Fitbit themselves has a product that has these downfalls and issues.

Hi, I’m having the same issue and can confirm all the recommendations are done. Still disappears every time I close Strava. I have a Versa 2

This was maddening. My vera 2 kept disappearing. I had already linked to Strava in fitbit and set up the versa as a device in Strava With no succcess. I finally fixed it by allowing fitbit on the Strava site from my phone...
http://strava.fitbit.com/
Try going through the linking and permission process on both apps separately. Good luck

I'm having the same problem, and found the same solution (to sync from the Fitbit website instead of the Strava mobile app) : http://strava.fitbit.com/
One question though :
Will this sync Heartrate data from Fitbit to Strava as well?
The page only mentions GPS data. So I hope that does not mean Heartrate data will be skipped when syncing from Fitbit to Strava.
Is it working for you?

Heartrate data is showing for me on Strava, once I fixed the integration.
