Sudden Bluetooth issues

A bit of rant... Last night my Versa 3 wouldn't sync all of a sudden. Tried several times on my Android (S10) phone but no success. I turned everything off, switched off my phone and Versa 3, logged out of the app and back in again - several times - to no avail.

I then tried to sync on my Windows 10 laptop and it worked but no matter what troubleshooting I tried on my phone, nothing worked. Not even unpairing the device and removing from the app.

When I tried to set the device up again, I was stuck on the "is your Versa 3 turned on?" page, even though it was fully charged and on with both bluetooth and location settings on.

I checked the notifications and Fitbit required more permissions... AGAIN!!! Whenever Fitbit requires more permissions it somehow messes up the app and affects bluetooth detection and requires a full reinstall of the device as updating permissions through the notifications either via the app or phone settings doesn't work properly.

This has happened to me *3 times* since I got the Versa 3. The watch works fine - though I don't use many functions - until Fitbit requires more permissions and then the app stops working. I don't understand anyway why Fitbit requires access to my contacts, messages... when I don't use the device to make calls or a voice assistant but merely as a fancy pedometer but it already had access to all that. It's the only bluetooth device I own that stops working when it requires more permissions.

I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the app and device and wasted a couple of hours in the process because Fitbit is still one the least reliable bluetooth devices out there. /rant

Hi @SunsetRunner  - normally you can press and hold the Fitbit App launch icon on the phone and select app info, there do storage clear cache and force stop.

After logging out of the Fitbit App and back in, go to the phone home screen without closing the App, click on the sync popup and it should pair and link with the watch.

If not, at that stage restart both watch and phone, with the computer off in case the watch is linked to it or tries to connect with it.

If it stops syncing later it may be because the phone battery saving is shutting down the Fitbit App and/or Bluetooth.

Hi @SunsetRunner you say that you removed the Fitbit app and reinstalled, the Phone seeing this as a freshly installed app will need to ask for permissions.

Removing the app from the phone and/or from the phones Bluetooth will not require setting up the tracker.

Removing the tracker from the fitbit app will require removing the tracker from the phones Bluetooth (this is un-pairing the tracker) before setting up the tracker through the fitbit app.
