A couple of weeks ago when I got into bed, I noticed that my heart rate was in the 90s and went up to the low 100s and then made a rapid decrease. It skipped many numbers as it went back down to the 70s. I figured it was because I was getting into bed and was a bit wiggly.
However, this afternoon, I was sitting on the porch, and my heart rate had been running in the 70s. I looked at my Fitbit and my heart rate was 84 and it began rapidly rising. I was perfectly still and watched it get up to 107 and then make a rapid decrease again. It skipped many numbers on its way back down to the upper 70s. I didn’t feel any different and I didn’t feel like my heart was racing.
I am 53 years old and my typical resting heart rate is in the low 60s. I do monitor my heart rate because a year ago I had subclinical hyperthyroid, but it has since resolved itself. Due to my thyroid issues, I have also had EKGs, a stress test, event monitor, and an echo in the past year. All tests were normal.
I realize that this is an older Fitbit, but is this a glitch?
