It sounds like he will need to either put the passcode in himself or have you do it.
I don't know if this will work, as mine isn't passcode protected, but you may have to do a Factory Reset on the Versa. You can do this by either holding down all 3 buttons or swiping left until you see "Settings", then hit "About", and then "Factory Reset".
