Swim accuracy

Hi,

I purchased this Fitbit because I wanted to track my lengths to be able to prove I was swimming a total amount of lengths for a charity I’m raising money for. However, when I put the watch on swim mode it doesn’t register the first 3 lengths I complete. It will then track them fine, until I change my stroke and it will calculate one length to ever 4 I’m completely.

its been a complete waste of money and time for me because no one can believe include swimming enough lengths per week to complete a certain goal.

Move tried wearing the watch tighter and looser. I’ve tried swimming slower and making an impact on ever turn, but nothing seems to make a difference.

I have found my Versa excellent for counting swim lengths. The things it needs to register the endof a lap and the start of another is not impact, it is a pause in arm movements. Either pause atbthe lap end for a secondmor two OR turn, push off welll and glide (no arms) for a second or two (you can kick, but pause your arms) since workingbthis out I dont think I have missed more than 5 laps in the last year (and probsbly less). So give that a go and see how it manages.

Just saw this, your answer.  I just posted this so maybe I'll try your technique of pausing arms.

I have a Charge 5 and it does not count laps accurately, always undercounting. For example, I swim 2250 yards (90 lengths) and it shows 1950 yards.  If the mechanism is turns, then hard to understand why it's not accurate.  Also, the problem would be resolved if I could edit the laps and the algorithm should calculate correct calories expended.  Shouldn't be hard to fix if editing were available.  Disappointed in that.
