Sync Issue after Update

I have a Versa Fitbit that I sync with my Android phone.  I ran an update yesterday per the google play store and since then the app doesn't recognize my device (says no device found).  I have rebooted my phone, the Fitbit, and restarted my bluetooth.  I've been a Fitbit user since 2015 so this isn't my first Fitbit but I'm at a loss as to what to try next outside of uninstalling and re-installing the app, which I'm really not excited about trying.

I would be interested in the response given to you as my Versa Lite now does not want to sync to my Samsung Galaxy S9+ keeps dropping off the clock face, says it can't connect and then reverts to the fitbit logo, and generally drains my phone battery and the watches battery
