I frequently have syncing issues with my Versa where it wont sync all day like it us supposed to, and when I do manual syncs, it takes me dozens of tries where I need to force stop the app, restart my bluetooth, and even reset both my phone and the Versa just to get it to finally sync.
Then when I go for runs and select "Exercise" then "Run" it wont connect to my phone to track using GPS. I retry the myriad of troubleshoots out there, including restarting bluetooth, the app, etc... but of the MANY time's I've exercised, I only got the app to connect to the phone ONCE, and that time it disconnected half way through and I lost the entire run.
I find it very frustrating and would love it if there were a solution for this. The technology is meant to work for fitness tracking, but honestly I spend almost as much time fighting with the darn thing as I do actually working out!

How many devices, phones, laptop Mac's with FitBit dongle in use etc., do you have running the FitBit dashboard?
Just the one device or you will get conflicting connections & failed sync.
Also connectivity conflicts off & from other Bluetooth devices, I have learnt, will cause connectivity & sync issues.
GPS issues - when was last time you updated the FitBit app? If that failed have you deleted reinstalled FitBit app, unpaired your Versa done a full factory reset, and a fresh setup of Versa to the app?
That has always solved GPS connectivity & sync issues for me in the past.
In settings - Account 'All day sync' is enabled isn't it? Hope this helps!

Until I logged on to Fitbit on my laptop today to create this post, I had only ever connected to my Fitbit using my Pixel 2 LX, or my previous phones which are no longer being used for anything.
The Fitbit is the only device I use which has problems with the Bluetooth connectivity, I've used different wireless ear buds and what not with this same phone and no issues. To your point of "how many devices do I have connected" just the fitbit and my wireless earbuds are connected to my phone when I run. And when I am not running nothing is connected to my phone via Bluetooth aside from my fitbit. The only exception would be when I am driving, but I am not overly worried about my fitbit when driving haha. And when I am not driving my car doesn't remain on obviously.
My app was updated on Monday, that was a part of my trouble shooting process, however I still had the same issues between Monday and Tuesday, and then again yesterday I couldn't get it to sync for my run. I wasn't able to get it to sync to my phone until today.
The "Sync All Day" option IS toggled, and has always shown that way, but it still doesn't work.
Also I have already done one factory reset, but I guess I'll try it again and update the device... Overall I am VERY disappointed in this unit.
Further more I changed the background I wanted for my Versa in the App, but it has not updated to the Versa yet... but I'll worry about that later since it's cosmetic and I care much more about the functionality of the unit.

I have lots of notification and sync issues too. I spent an hour (a full 60 minutes) in chat with Fitbit yesterday morning. They said they would bump it up to a "higher level" and I would get an email for next steps. Finally this afternoon, I get an email asking me if I have the all-day sync and always connected features selected. Like, really? They are going to ask a basic question, wait for an answer and get back to me in another day and a half? How long will this take? Sorry, to hijack your post for a service complaint. Instead, I want to confirm similar challenges. I have to restart my phone and Versa after every charge. And, I have no success trying to have both my Fitbit and my earbuds connected by Bluetooth to my phone. If I want to listen to music on my Versa, I have to turn off Bluetooth on my phone. I haven't tried it with the GPS on my phone. Best of luck with your challenges!

Don't apologize, you're not alone!!!! Lol
I still am having issues, and unfortunately the earlier comment above did not help. I ran on Sunday and after a song and dance of restarting, trying to sync, and 30 minutes of messing around I was able to get the Versa to sync, and stay connected during a run. It was the second time since owning it (more than 4 months) that I was able to get the Versa to actually do what's it's supposed to do... the last time it disconnected mid run, this time it stayed connected.
I was excited it worked, but at the same time it took 30 minutes and I reset my phone and the versa like 4 times each to get it to work. I never did anything "special" on the final try that seemed to work, it just happened to connect and happily it didn't disconnect mid run like that last time.
I really would like some input from Fitbit customer service on why this is happening and what they intend to do to fix the issue. It's pretty obvious it isn't an isolated incident if you're having similar if not the exact same issue.
