Syncing and Notifications issues-Versa

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought the new Versa this morning having had the Alta for nearly 2 years. So far I've had most of the issues that other people have had including the sync and notification problems. The Alta was faultless with notifications but the Versa is hit and miss. I've factory reset it twice and removed the Alta from the Fitbit app, have got to a stage where the sync seems to be ok but the notifications arnt. The phone had been sat at the side of the Versa whilst it's been on charge and received some notifications and not others. This is a big let down compared to the Alta as it's one thing I use alot whilst out doing my daily job. I'd like to think this is going to be sorted, if not it's going back

Hello @KezzaRed, I hope you're doing well, it's great to see you around. Smiley Happy

I appreciate you have brought this syncing and notifications issues to my attention and I would like to thank you for mentioning the troubleshooting steps you've already tried in hopes to resolve this situation.

When it comes to the syncing issues, I would like to suggest you to check the following:

  • Make sure the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your phone.
  • The software on your mobile device is up to date. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices around as they might interfere with the syncing process
  • Check that your Fitbit device's battery isn't critically low.

If your device still won't sync, try these steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
  3. Open the Fitbit app.
  4. If your Fitbit device didn't sync, restart your phone again.
  5. Open the Fitbit app.
  6. If your watch didn't sync, restart it one more time by pressing and holding the Back and Select buttons (left and bottom right) until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen.
  7. If your watch  won't sync after the restart, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
  8. If your Fitbit device still doesn’t sync, remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your mobile device and try to sync.

Now, when it comes to Notifications, have you checked if your Versa is not currently on the Do Not Disturb Mode? You can check press down the button on the left for 2 seconds. If Do Not Disturb is enabled you will see the OFF option selected under Notifications. However, if everything seems right with your tracker I would like to suggest you to reset Notifications from the Fitbit app following these steps:

- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and tap on tracker. Then tap on Forget this Device.

- Force-close the Fitbit app by double tapping the home button on your phone and swiping up the app.

- Open the app again and tap on Account > Your Tracker > Notifications. You will receive the following Pop-up:

- Then, once you tap on Set Up, the app will begin setting up your tracker with the Bluetooth on your phone, which will prompt the next pop-up:

- Tap Pair

- Once you get back to the tracker options, tap on Notifications an enable the ones you'd like to receive.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink

Thanks for all of that it's great, I have already done all of those things
numerous times and hopefully things seem to be much better. I have factory
reset it five times to try different things and have noticed the initial
setup only works properly when you are near to the router in the house when
connecting to WiFi. I have also set up the wallet and used it twice ok on
Saturday but when I came to use it yesterday it said the card was
unsupported so not sure why, I have done another factory reset since then
so will try again when I get the chance

Thanks

Hold the left button down until you see the notifications tab.

My wife had her notification tab clicked on off and simply changed it to on and works like a charm.
