Syncing automatically - how to stop this

How do I stop my versa lite from syncing automatically? 

it never did this before. And I got a new phone last week and has done it since using my new phone

I'm afraid we can't - Fitbit have removed that option. They say: 

"To improve your experience with notifications, syncing, and firmware updates, we removed the option to turn off all-day sync from the Fitbit app. When your phone is near your Fitbit device with Bluetooth turned on, it periodically syncs with the Fitbit app to update your stats and download available firmware updates"

Could it be that with the switch of phones you are now running a newer version of the app that included this change?

That is most likely what happened. Thank you for the response.
