Like many of you, I spend 3 days fighting with my Versa trying to get the text and phone notifications. I did every single troubleshooting thing listed in the manual, on the fitbit site and in these forums. I read tons of posts and repeatedly tried all of the suggestions. But I spent time on the chat with support this evening. I'll pass on what we did, which was different that the prior suggestions. Hopefully, it will help someone here.
(1) Unpair other devices you have paired, even though they;re not powered on or being used.
(2) If the Versa decides to be in your list of bluetooth devices, tell it to forget. (I know you tried this, but do it anyway because the next steps will be different). If it's not on the list, don't worry about it.
(3) Turn bluetooth off.
(4) Press and hold the left button and lower right button to power down the Versa.
(5) Wait a minute and then hold down a button to turn it back on. (Hang on, the new stuff it coming now).
(6) Go to the app and after verifying that you have "always connected" and "keep-alive widget" on (which I know you've done a million times) hit the Notifications button.
(7) NOW, go to the 3 dots in the upper right corner and hit disable notifications.
(8) THEN, instead of turning the notifications back on, do each one individually.
(9) So in other words, manually turn on calls, then hit the text message button and select the program that you receive messages with. Then turn on calendar, then turn on emails and if desired whatever you want in the app notifications list).
(9) THEN go back to the 3 buttons in the upper right corner and hit "send test call notification."
This was the turning point for me. Everything worked after that. Three days of exceptional frustration over. Of course, there's no accept or reject call button which pops up, which is contrary the product information on the website.
My device: Moto G5 Plus (2017), Android 7.0 Marshmallow, Bluetooth 4.2. My phone is not listed on the compatible device list, but is now functioning properly.

In other words, "It's not you, it's me" - Fitbit.
Long story short, numerous users are experiencing massive issues with the latest Fitbit updates with notifications. It simply is not your fault if you have issues similar to this. Fitbit should sober up and get cracking on fixing some glaring bugs introduced in recent versions. I for one cannot get the Fitbit app to work with notifications at all. Personally, I don't care because I don't want notifications on my wrist. I bought this device to run some simple apps on my wrist, notifications will be handled via my phone. But others will be peeved.

Just checking to see if your notifications are continuing to work? I have the same phone and would like to order the Versa, but if you keep having to redo this, then maybe I'll wait until they get the glitches fixed.

I have found that my text message notifications work when I am not using my computer. If I am then my notifications do not come through from my phone to my Versa. It is like the fitbit connection from my computer overrides my phone. So, for me the problem is solved. I just close my computer when I don't need it.

I’ve had my Fitbit Versa Lite for 2months with no issues until yesterday. I cannot get text or phone notifications anymore from my IPhone 8. I’ve checked all my settings and they are correct. What else can I do?

I wrote a few days ago about not getting texts or phone on my Fitbit. I thought I’d tried everything until I gave my 11 year old granddaughter my Fitbit to try to figure it out. Within 2 minutes she had it! There is another spot on the Fitbit itself to turn on notifications that I had never seen. I have a Fitbit Versa LITE so I’m not sure how you would do this with the regular Versa. But anyway she just held down the left hand button for a second or two. The Fitbit vibrated once. Then 2 things came up and one was notifications. Mine had been turned off somehow. She turned it on a now it works! YAY! Hope it works for anyone else having trouble.
