Track exercise via APP

Me: That’s what I was asking.. why can I track the bike exercise from my watch (it connects to the GPS from my phone) but can not initiate tracking the bike exercise from the FitBit App directly?
Me: I do not want to manually LOG the bike activity on the app when it can automatically be tracked when I initiate the tracking from the watch directly

Hello @usz999 and welcome to the Help forums.  The feature that lets you track from the app is known as MobileRun.  It was Fitbit's first way to track any activity using GPS.  I remember using it when the current Fitbit was the One.  Fitbit didn't have any way to track biking.  Fitbit added biking and other activities when it added the ability to start these exercises from the device itself.  This was called the Exercise menu on the Surge and the Multi-sport mode on the Charge 2.  Now all the devices call it the Exercise app.  In my opinion, Fitbit moved on from MobileRun and chose not to update it when it released exercise tracking on the device.  I see it as a "why bother?"  decision. MobileRun still exists because there are many legacy devices in use.
