Tracking steps while using rollstor

My first two tracks steps just fine but I am walking unassisted. If I am out of the house, I often use of Rollator. It helps me with my balance and has a seat for times that I get tired. Unfortunately, my Fitbit will not recognize the fact that I am walking when I am using it. I walked for an hour in the supermarket today and got absolutely no credit for it. I was thinking of wrapping it as far around my ankle as it will reach and pulling up my sock over it so that it will feel the movement. I thought perhaps since my arms were stationary pushing the roller it’s not picking up on it. Any suggestions?

I agree with your thinking, @KaraOhki. When I am walking while pushing a grocery cart or using a recumbent machine, I frequently place my device at my ankle. This works well in capturing steps but please keep in mind that it may skew your heart rate info. For me, it’s ok because steps are my main focus. Your decision.

Thank you. I’ll give it a try. Walking is my only form of activity, and I want to count those steps!

I'm a person who uses a rollator too. I have found that if I make my primary goal as distance instead of steps, it seems to be more accurate. Being able to calculate when I am out and at home.

Fitbit should have other alternatives than steps. Best to you.
