Transit Fitbit pay issues (Chicago)

I just got my Versa 2 a couple of days ago. A large reason why I purchased this watch was to be able to use the Fitbit Pay to pay for public transit. It states online that the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is supported, but on my Fitbit Wallet, it shows no options for me to add my Ventra card. The only option showing for transit to me is for the iPASS in Taiwan.

I spoke o a customer service representative who told me that the Ventra card is not approved, which means that CTA is not supported by Fitbit Pay.

I want to know if anyone else in Chicago is having this issue. Or anyone in any of the places that have the ability to use their transit card/pass on Fitbit Pay.

Thanks!

Bueller? Bueller? Do fitbit reps read these forums? Or is it just a forum to vent or help each other out? I tried to add my ventra card (mastercard) on fitbit pay and it doesn't let me saying it's not a supported bank... What gives? False advertising?

I second this! Just had the same experience in May 2021.

I got them to give me a card number because the card is void after connecting to Apple Pay so thats long gone! I put it into the Fitbit app and it did not work.

is the card number different from the online token?

I also ran into this issue when trying to add my Ventra card to Fitbit Pay as well as Google Pay which doesn't support the Ventra card.

I read a bit more on the CTA website, and it seems like the solution is to use the "pay-as-you-go" method, which essentially is just paying with any credit card stored on Fitbit Pay or Google Pay. I'm not in Chicago at the moment to test this, but maybe you can try it out. Kind of defeats the purpose of the Ventra card if you ask me.

Here's a link to the website, though I admit it's not very clear. See section on mobile pay apps: https://www.transitchicago.com/fares/

I just CHATTED with a rep. just now. They have no clue. They think you can tap and pay your bus/train fare with your debit card. so they are clueless.
