Treadmill steps

I have the Versa 2 , it tracks my steps all day long , normal walking , but when i walk on my treadmill it does not count the steps . ?????

If you are holding hand rail, it probably will not detect steps because your arm is not swinging as in walking.  But you will still be getting calorie burn from higher heart rate.  Or you can try putting in pocket to get better step count, but with no heart rate data if that is more important to you.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I can confirm what @JohnnyRow said as it applies to holding onto the handrails. I have spent two hours a day on my treadmill for nearly all of last year with a Versa 2 and with keeping only the hand without the device on the handle received excellent step counts. This included not only when letting my "device arm" swing freely, but also with holding it up in front of my face so I could "gander" at the display. It apparently recognized the vibrations as steps, as well.

 

And believe me when I say I tested the heck out of it with regards to both step counting and heart rate reporting. Check out my career description in my signature block.
