I go to settings ->Brighten-> . and it's on "Dim" . I swipe up and down and nothing happens . I notice the "Dim" is grayed out

Was able to correct it but can't remember how.  Hopefully I won't need to again.  Thank you.

Genius, thank you for the tip.  It worked.

This happened to me too! The issue was that my Fitbit was on sleep mode. It caused the watch to be dim (and I couldn’t change it) and silenced all my notifications. Go to settings > sleep mode > off. It worked for me!

Done that plus deleting device and starting over , even had help with a rep
on the phone nothing works. And I find out that lots of people are having
the same issues. And Fitbit knows it and won’t replace them , but give you
a small discount on another purchase. Shame on them. Not Happy!!

☆ミ☆ミ☆ミBrilliant! 👏👏 Ok I didn't know you could pull down from above the screen two times✌️, then tap on toggles on the right and there's your control center. Well I'd actually forgotten you could do that bc I only use this thing once a year. Anyway it is fixed now. Everything was greyed out in setting app before; sleep mode, DND, Brightness. I thought I had to do factory reset etc. Whew! Thank you 🤝

I have tried everything to get the brightness increased so when outside I
see the time Even called customer support , he had me try everything he
could think of but said “I don’t know what else to do “. Sorry. Well there
you have it they said they would give me a $30 discount. And they know
it’s a common problem that a lot of fit bit customers are having. Why don’t
they have a recall like most most companies do when they know they have a
problem. Think Apple just got another customer

@russellmiller82  - most  colour watches are difficult to read outside in sunlight, even phones, especially if you wear glasses which darken in sunlight or are polarised.

Same here . I can't change any of the settings on my sense and it's only 8 months old. Going to get a pixel when it comes on the market.

Yes I have the same problem. The sad thing about it is Fitbit knows they
have this brightness problem and they do nothing about it. When an auto
company finds that they have a problem they do a recall. I’m so
disappointed with Fitbit I will not purchase another one

Hi @Sockmonkey824 - if your watch is not in sleep mode (swipe watch face to the right to get to Quick Settings in a Sense) and you have restarted it and it's still a problem to change settings, try chat via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & support,, Contact Customer support, they may take you through a factory reset.

If that doesn't work replace it where you bought it.
