Hello @Charsie, welcome to the Community Forums!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the information that was shared in your post. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check how the syncing procedure works here and see if there's a missing requirement on your Android mobile device that's preventing the syncing procedure to be completed.
Also, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and let me know how it goes.
Keep me posted, I'll be around if you need anything else.

Yes, I read your recommendations and duh me. It looks like my LG android is incompatible. I have a V20 and mine is not on the list. I will try where I bought my phone hoping they can help me. Thanks so much for your time and help.

Every thing fixed itself. Sync and fitbit Versa updated itself. So do not know what happened before but now good. Thanks

Charsie, can you specify exactly what you did? I installed the Fitbit app for the first time last night, updated my Fitbit Versa 2 (But I had to do it over Bluetooth as over Wi-Fi kept failing at around 20%), and spent about 3 and a half hours just trying to sync it. I got it a few times, but it failed just a couple of minutes later. Most of the time, however, it wouldn't connect at all and although my phone saw the Fitbit, the Bluetooth icon in my phone's notification bad never turned a solid color as it does whenever it connects to a device via Bluetooth. I get that my phone isn't on the compatibility list, but if you were successful, I was hoping that maybe I could get to the same point.

Thank you. Have you had no issues since then?

You know what? Nevermind. This has been too frustrating in trying to get anywhere with this Versa 2. I get it that my LG V20 isn't on the compatibility list, but I was still hoping especially since the previous model of my phone IS on the list. Disappointing all around. Moving on to a Garmin.
