Unpaired Versa 3, now it says unlock with phone

Hi,

Today i unpaired my Versa 3 from my phone due to synchronisation issues. When I started the process of pairing it again with my phone it says unlock with phone due to too many pin attempts (usual problem when wearing in shower). I often just ignore it since I only use the front page for information about time and steps..

Well, the problem is that when the phone asks for PIN from Versa when pairing, I can't see the PIN due to "Unlock with Your Phone".... Sollutions?

Hello @KimG90 it sounds like you removed the watch from your fitbit account, rather than a simple un-pair from the phone.

Un-pair is when the user goes into the phones Bluetooth and removes a device from the list of trusted Bluetooth devices.

Removing the tracker from the fitbit app will not un-pair the tracker from the phone. This step simply removes the tracker from the users fitbit account.

Before removing a tracker from the fitbit account, the user should perform a clear all user data.

The pin lock really should have been set for fitbit pay only.

First we have to un-pair the tracker by removing it from the Phone Bluetooth list of devices.

Now we can fix this by performing a factory reset. The timing is critical, therefore it may take several tries, but you will get it.

  • Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  • When the Fitbit logo disappears:
  • Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
  • Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates the factory reset.

Let us know how things go, and your phone model if you can not set the tracker up.

We still may need to fix the no-sync issue.

BTW: the app needs to know what tracker to sync with. Removing a non syncing tracker from the fitbit account, will always add more issues to work through.

Why? Because you are now trying to fix a sync issue with an unknown tracker, and now we have to setup a tracker that we already know is not talking to the fitbit app.

I have allways hated the button ok the Versa 3 and now I hate it even more. There is no way that I can get this timing right I think.

Ok, so whn i start pressing the button it shows the chosen "front Page" right. There is no fitbit icon until it reboots, and that takes way more than 8 seconds. After 8 seconds it turns off and starts the reboot process, is that when I'm supposed to let go and and press and hold the button once more?

Definitely works but takes a few tries........here is what worked for me....

1) When you see the "Unlock with your Phone Message" press and hold the button, until you see the Logo,

2) then when it disappears release the button for 1-2 secs and hold again.... if you have done it right, the screen will blank for about 30 secs...and then come up with the logo again, the logo will stay for up to a minute. At this point you can release the button it take a while but will eventually complete the factory reset.

What kept happening to me was

1) Press and hold the button,

2) The Logo would appear and then disappear, this is where the timing is critical, if you get it wrong, the log will reappear very quickly, in in about 5 secs  and the normal boot up will continue. If this happens, start again.

so in Summary...its Critical after step 2, release and press and hold...the screen should stay blank for about 30 secs.....if it doesnt, start again
