Versa 2 GPS connection

I have inquired previously about the poor GPS tracking with the VERSA 2.  For comparison sake. I start the Fitbit exercise app on my phone AND the exercise app on my Versa 2.  The watch indicates that it is connected to my phone.  Here are the maps from today's run.  Perfectly clear day.  I run in a residential city in a decent size city with good GPS connection and I am not blocked by large buildings or trees. The watch clearly does not connect to the GPS on my phone. My phone is on the same arm as my Fitbit.  My Fitbit is not covered in any way while running and it SAYS it is connected to my phone. The difference in the 2 apps today was not acceptable.  I have been a loyal Fitbit customer and have recommended and purchased the product for 4 other family members.  I was very excited to upgrade to the Versa 2 but feel like I threw money out the window to have these for both my husband and I.  There have been numerous comments about the poor distance tracking and I was offered no real solutions.  Can I get a refund? Can this be fixed with a software update? Is there another tracker that more accurately tracks a run via GPS.  I certainly don't plan to continue recommending this product.

Today, 5/26/2020, My Watch recorded the run at 6.97 miles @ a 9"40" pace ( I WISH)

The Fitbit exercise app on my phone recorded the same run as a 5.53-mile run at 12'43". (Much more accurate)

I run with my phone, but part of the reason I wanted the Versa 2 was to be able to glance at my arm to see my distance, pace etc.

Hello @CRCardinal does the map look correct?

When recording through your wrist, Fitbit uses gps and stride to record distance, as pointed out numerous times, the user really needs to setup tour stride.  .

The Fitbit app designed to use without a tracker, will only look at the GPS for distance.

For better distance the user wants to calculate their average stride and input into fitbit.
