Issue:
Screen is randomly unresponsive to touch. Can't swipe left/right/up/down nor press the buttons on the touch screen. Only the side button works normally.
Example: Was able to swipe right in the morning to start a workout. 1.5 hours later was unable to swipe up/down/left/right nor press the Finish button. Similar issue happens on the main clock face.
OS:
Last known Versa 2 update, 72.1.23 which is update over a year ago.
Attempted solutions:
- Changing the clock face to another Fitbit one (i.e. Had Fitbit's Waveform, switched to Fitbit's In the Zone.
- Held the side button in till the device restarted (released on appearance of the Fitbit logo). This works 10% of the time and only for a short time.
- Disconnected the Versa 2 from the app and readded.
- Charged via the charger connected to a desktop computer.
- Fully discharged the Versa 2 by just letting the battery get empty with regular use, then recharged.
These are issues all previously reported in the community. This issue keeps reoccuring regardless of the suggested solutions and there's not a single crack in the device itself. It charges properly, screen *can* work as designed, yet randomly doesn't. No water leaks (it's supposed to be water proof anyway).
My conclusion is that this is purely a software issue.

Cert75,
I am having a similar problem that just started a few days ago. I see you tried everything that I could think of to try as well with no positive results. And that you concluded that it must be a software problem. Have you been able to somehow rectify the problems with that assumption? Or have you had any other helpful suggestions from anyone?
Thank you in advance for any assistance. I’m down to assuming that I need a new watch and I am thinking that it will NOT be another Fitbit.

Are you using an iPhone & did prob start after installing IOS 16.7 by chance? I’ve encountered BT connectivity & Car play connectivity issues since installing that update.
