Versa 2 Reset failed. Data not cleared

After trying all community advice and failing, I combined it all and then moved away from phone and house wifi.

1) I deleted my Versa 2. 2) I deleted the Fitbit App. and restarted the phone. 3) Left phone in house, and walked to the end of the block so that Versa 2 could not connect. 4) pressed button 8 secs, allowed the logo to appear. 5) The SECOND the logo disappeared, I pressed the button until the vibration. 

That got me off the Red X after hours of trying.

Did all that resetting to get my screen to respond to touch better. Didnt help, but I'm now able to track again
