Versa 2 Screen not responding

My versa 2 (purchased xmas '19) has today decided the screen isn't working.

It died maybe 4 days ago while I was away and did not have a charger with me so I wore it while dead for a few days (I've never done this before) and had it charging overnight last night when I returned home. I wonder would the long period of absolutely zero charge cause something like this?

I have held the side button to restart the watch 2 or 3 times (after a full charge) and nothing seems to work re the screen.

Oh jeez! To clarify: my screen comes on and shows the time, it's the touch part that isn't working. I am unable to swipe between screens. 

 

(I was talking when I wrote the OP and I may have mislabelled my issue)

I'm having similar issues.  Just started last night.  It seems like the touch sensor is going crazy.  When I can get it to respond, and I try to swipe to the menu it's trying to tap on everything thing.
