Versa 2 back seems damaged

My versa 2 back has gone from this glossy finish to a rough almost “sanded off” feeling finish with a few scratches and I don’t know what could have caused that. Is it sweat damage or anything of the sort and should I be worried about that affecting the functionality of the watch? I have tried cleaning it with water and it didn’t work.

by the way, I have only used my versa 2 for a couple of months
