Versa 2 battery is draining quickly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’m having problems with my Fitbit staying charged. I’ve followed all of the instructions on other posts and nothing happens. At most it stays charged for two days. Seems to be a common problem based on what I’m reading.

Hi there, @NaisyT. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.

To better assist you, may I know what suggestions you tried?

As you may know, your Versa 2 battery should last up to 6 days. However, as with other electronic devices, the battery will depend on the features and how often they're used, such as the GPS, Spotify app or the Always-On display. While this doesn't mean that you shouldn't use them, please take into into consideration the conditions that impact your watch's battery.

That being said, I'd recommend to change the clock face to one designed by Fitbit and please confirm if you've followed the tips and recommendations to maximize your watch's battery life described here.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your quick response. My habits for using the Versa haven't
changed since the issue with the battery.

Things that I have done:

1). Turned off the ability for the screen to turn on every time I turn my
wrist. I now manually use the side button to turn it on
2) Dimmed the screen to the lowest mode (which by the way is barely
readable in the light - and I hadn't changed it prior to the battery issue
so that's the setting it's been on since I got the Versa)
3) The screen timeout is at the lowest setting possible (was already set to
this)
4) I have minimal notifications - incoming phone call, calendar and text
messages. I don't get any higher amount of volume for text messages that I
have in the past
5) I don't use music control or music apps
6) I don't use the SpO2 data
7) I've restarted the fitbit several times

As far as the clock fact, I do not have a custom clock face. It's one of
the ones designed by Fitbit.

Thanks!

Renee

I have the same issue. It began about 3 weeks ago.

I'm having the same issue. And like Naisy, I don't use music or any special features. My Fitbit was staying charged just fine until about a month ago and now I'm lucky if I don't have to charge it daily. Do these internal batteries just eventually stop charging to full capacity??

I am having battery life issues now too!  No problems until I ran the update a few days ago!

Hello @NaisyT , @Smpower911 , @Sings4fun@annoufan1 and @Jack.lipton

I noticed a change in my battery life as well. I was prompted by a new Firmware update for my Versa 2 (version 72.1.23) a couple of days ago. After the update I noticed a significant improvement in my battery life. Maybe you might as well. Just a thought.

How did you update your Fitbit firmware?

Hello again @NaisyT

I’m assuming you have a Versa 2 as well because of the subject of this thread. I was prompted by a pop up on my Fitbit App. The pop up occurred on Monday morning. Once you receive the update hopefully that will improve your battery. I’m not sure “why” it happened but it certainly improved mine.

To see which Firmware update you have open your Fitbit App, tap your profile picture then scroll down and tap Versa 2. There at the top of your screen will post your latest update.

Here is how mine currently appears:

If you haven’t gotten the update notice yet it should come soon. The updates are not put out all at once. They come in waves if that makes sense. So, you would receive it soon.

Although I’ve been told it’s “simply cosmetic” and doesn’t work (which I disagree) but another way I’ve been able to prompt a Firmware update is by following this path: open your Fitbit App, tap your profile picture then scroll down and tap Help & Support. Next scroll down and tap Check for Versa 2 Update

😃 I hope that answers your question.

Not allowed to attach a screen shot, but mine shows version 3.62 and my battery life is 2 days or less and my app says it's up to date. So frustrating!

Wow @Sings4fun

3.62 Fitbit app update was about 3 months ago. There has been 6 other updates after the 3.62 was released. But that concerns the Fitbit App but not the Versa 2 firmware update I posted about in my previous post. Are you sure that wasn’t a typo and you meant to say your current Fitbit App update is 3.67?

What is your current Firmware Version? You can find opening your Fitbit App, tap your profile picture then scroll down and tap Versa 2. There at the top of your screen will post your latest update and Firmware Version.

Your still on the old version @NaisyT 😉 I’m sure you will get prompted to update your Firmware to 72.1.23 in the next few days or so.

Yes, my app version is 3.67.

My firmware version is 35.72.1.19.

And, my Fitbit battery died overnight despite showing 50% when I went to bed. And I only slept for 8 hours.

I'm having the same issue with my battery draining quickly too. I did the firmware update 30 minutes ago, fingers crossed this helps the issue.
