Versa 2 blutooth connection

Hello,

I've had my versa 2 for a couple weeks now. I had no issues setting it up initially. After a few days, the device lost wifi connection and would not sync. I did a full factory reset and set the device up again on my phone (samsung galaxy S7). Worked again fine for a week or so. After full charge, now cannot connect to wifi again. steps taken today:

- turned wifi router off and on - no success

- turned blutooth off and on - no success

- shut down versa 2 - no success

- deleted fitbit app and reinstalled - no success

- deleted device from app and now it will not re-pair device is on and fully charged

This is exceedingly frustrating for what should be a simple device connection...

If you have setup the Versa 2 to connect to your wifi, it should try and connect while the Versa 2 is plugged in and charging. This is the only time the wifi will be turned on.

Wifi is used to transfer music, can be used to install firmware and update apps.

As for syncing this happens only through Bluetooth.

What is it that is not happening?.are you having an issue with loading music onto the Versa 2?

Removing the tracker from your Fitbit account for doing a factory reset will only add more problems.

So after a couple weeks I am getting fed up. Every time I charge the device it drops the bluetooth connection and I have to restart the device and my phone at the same time in order for it to regain connection.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Same thing.  Wouldn't sync so I uninstalled and reinstalled, now unpaired and won't see device. They really need to fix the app. Next time I'll read forums first. The latest update screwed everyone. All of Fitbits responses are just canned answers, they aren't even letting anyone know if their working on it.

@Jim1952 and @IanCoulson -

As @Rich_Laue stated, wi-fi is, due to the power requirements, meant to be used when the device is on the charging cable. As a test, I have connected when not connected to the charging cable and the wi-fi connection dropped after approximately five minutes. I have also performed a firmware update over wi-fi when not on the charging cable because the device was at 100% charge and was successful. The wi-fi connection dropped after the update was complete as the device rebooted.

If you device is not getting a clean bluetooth pairing you may want to contact your retailer for an in-warranty replacement.

For iOS app users go to your phone's Bluetooth setting screen. If you don't see the blue-circled "I" next to the device, then you are just connected, not paired. And not having a cleanly paired device isn't good.

I returned my first Versa 2 (its connectivity pictured above) to Best Buy after six months of waiting for FitBit to acknowledge more than "we are aware of the issue and you will know when it is corrected".

The new device paired cleanly and I now sync every 15 minutes. In addition, eight missing functions including notifications for text, email, calendar and phone calls are now working as advertised. And my battery life has gotten better.

If you do have a clean pairing, FitBit is indeed aware of the syncing issues as well as heart rate not showing on the iOS Today screen, frozen Today screen, etc and are apparently working on it with assistance from at least one Board Monitor.

I cannot speak to any issues when using the Android app, should that be the platform you are on.
