Hello @bigmomma69
Does the Versa 2 button appear to be inverted inward? Do you see any dirt or debris around the button? Try taking a straight pin and try to very gently around the button. I do know the Fitbit Versa 2 is rated swim-proof up to 50 meters. This means that the device should be just fine for a trip to the beach, pool workout, or daily shower. with that said it should be able to handle a quick wash.
The reason your getting stuck and can’t get out is because the back button (side button) is certainly not working.
Try cleaning around it and hopefully that will encourage the button to work properly. Let me know how it goes
