Versa 2: can't send messages using voice function

Hi, my versa 2 is just a week old. 

 

It's connected to my phone and I can very well use Alexa. I can reply to the messages using quick replies. However, I can't reply to my message notifications using the voice function. It detects my voice and goes back to the same menu where it asks me say out loud the message. (I was able to use this function in the initial 2-3 days, no settings have been changed post that)

 

Please help me sort this out!

Sorry @SunsetRunner you have mentioned phone, but haven't said which phone model?
