Versa 2 heart rate stops working randomly

I just bought this fitbit versa 2. The heart rate monitor only works when it wants to.When it stops monitoring and  I take it off, the green light is not flashing and I have to wipe it off and play with it and put it back on a few times. It has its original band.  I put it up high, low, loose, tight. It does not matter. It stops working 20 times a day. I restart it and it doesn't fix it.  Help!

I actually did try all the steps  from that article prior to writing this post. I tried all the steps for several weeks and it just keeps happening. I think I may have to take it back. Thanks for your response.
