I updated my Fitbit Versa 2 like the app said to and i have reset it twice trying to fix the issue. However it will not show any of the numbers or letters on the device. It has the logos from the apps like normal and the displays but no numbers or letters. How do i fix this?

Hi there @Jwilli17, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for taking the time to restart your Versa 2 prior to contacting us.

Since the restart didn't work, I recommend doing a factory reset but before so, please sync your Versa 2 to save all your data and then remove it from the Fitbit app. Once you've done that, do the following:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

It came on and said "data not cleared sync and try again”. However, not it won’t sync.

Hi there @Jwilli17, thanks for getting back and for the update. Did you sync and remove your Versa 2 prior to performing the Factory Reset? The error message you're receiving usually appears when you performed a factory reset without before unpairing the Fitbit. Usually you should unpair/remove your Versa 2 from your Fitbit account and phone's Bluetooth and then perform the factory reset. To solve this issue, try these steps in the following order:

  • Remove your Versa 2 from your Fitbit account and unpair it from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 2.

If you can't get started with your Versa, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
