Hi. When I checked my stats this morning from yesterday, I discovered that my Fitbit Versa 2 has registered 8.1 miles of activity randomly at 9.45pm in the evening while I was sitting watching TV. I tried to create an exercise over this period and then delete it, in the hope that this would delete the registered mileage, but this has not worked. I am getting really frustrated with my Fitbit recently as I am also have problems geotracking my exercises. I have deleted and reinstalled the app a couple of weeks ago, disconnected and reconnected it to my phone app, but geo tracking still not working very well and now this random registered activity yesterday? I used to love Fitbit but I am thinking of changing to another brand now if I can't sort this out. Any help is appreciated.

Hi there @paulruegg. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand how you must be feeling.
Do you have another app connected to your Fitbit account that will add more steps? Mobiletrack maybe? Low-power step sensors inside your phone track your steps and send the data to the Fitbit app. We recommend using MobileTrack if you forget your Fitbit device at home.
Note that adding more than one Fitbit device to your account gives you the convenience of switching between devices while still seeing a holistic view of your daily activity on your dashboard.
Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?
For additional information, see Does the wrist I wear my device on affect the accuracy? and What can I do if my step count seems inaccurate?
As for the activity you manually logged, please note that it's not possible to delete steps and floors, but you can achieve the same result by negating them. You can get more information at: How do I delete steps and floors?
Regarding "geotracking", what you mean by that? Are you referring to connected GPS? Being that the case, see Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?
