When riding my bicycle, I have noticed the elevation gain changes depending on the wind. My route is the same yet elevation gain will change. On average it is about 350 to 400. I have seen it go as high as 1900 on a windy day. Why is that? Is it true elevation gain or something else entirely?

I suppose same applies to elevation change. Fitbit altimeter detects pressure change and can be fooled by wind.

Thank you for the reply. Then it isn’t trie elevation gain. I track my ride on another app along with the Fitbit and that apps elevation changes minutely by single digits.
