Doesn't matter what I try, the step count is way way to high, can this be fixed as no point in having it if it does not count accurately! I understand it not being 100% of course but it's literally out by thousands, literally thousands!

Hi there, @Livinginglasgow. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your Versa 2. I understand where your concern is coming from.

I've seen that you contacted our Support Team after posting here, but your chat got disconnected. If you still need help, please feel free to contact them back so they can continue assisting you.

Nevertheless, please keep in mind that Fitbit devices have a finely-tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or performing other activities with arm movements, a device on your wrist may add some steps. When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement—such as working or cooking—you often walk a few steps in-between stationary periods as well, so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. For more information, see: How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Additionally, please confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average.

If you want to negate the extra steps, please see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
