Versa 2 mileage issue

My partner's Versa 2 isn't acting right. While he gets at least 8,000 steps a day (average for his old ZIP tracker); the watch registers only 3/10's of a mile! It's done this 3 days in a row now, even after a factory reset of the watch and updating the app. He's 6 feet tall, and his weight is 140 pounds. His stride is long, ye, if that info adds to the picture. As I wrote in my profile, I have macular degeneration, which means the watch is a challenge for me to work with...leck, everything is! 

 

Can anyone help is old (darn near legally blind) gal? Thanks!
