Versa 2 not mapping 2020

My versa 2 has stopped mapping my runs since 22nd sept 2020.

All was well and suddenly it has stopped mapping and has started to show my split times 4 or 5 times.

The watch also takes about 10 minutes to connect to my phone and then loses connection within seconds. Has anyone get any ideas how to rectify the issue.

Exact same here. Only maps when the Fitbit app is open on my phone, stops immediately when I close the app.

I just read that this problem has to do with the app permissions on my phone which got changed during a recent upgrade. I have changed my location permission to always on and not just when using the app. Will see if that helps.

Thanks for reply, so do you run with the app open on your phone at all times to make sure it maps?

if so i'll try that next time i run

No and I didn't used to. But I have just now changed my app permissions to the always on setting to see if it helps. If that solves the problem tomorrow I will let you know.

It worked! Now back to normal with the phone permissions changed. Success.

THANKS!!  Yesterday, I noticed that if I manually chose to track my walk in the app, then my watch was also working.  I think by tracking it in the app, it kept the app open.  Based on the previous response here in this thread, on my phone I went to settings/location/fitbit/permissions/location and found that it said "Allow only while using the app."  I changed it to "Allow all the time."    Hopefully, this will make the watch track my distance/pace correctly without having to also manually track the run through the app.   Thanks again!
