Versa 2 not recognising exercise

It was working fine until last Thursday and now its is not recognising exercise and it's set on auto however it is picking up the active minutes which is strange? 

I have held the button on the left to reset watch and uninstalled and reinstalled app but still the same! Anyone else have this problem and knows how to solve it? Many Thanks

Won't credit for an exercise day either. Tracked all my steps this morning but other than that the walk doesn't show up on today's date, etc.

I have a new Versa 2, used it for the first time today.  I'd consider myself a novice so please don't worry that you might be explaining something that's really obvious.  It isn't to me.

As far as I can see it's set up identically to the one my wife has had for a while, yet hers auto recognises elliptical trainer usage whereas mine doesn't - though mine does recognise the steps I'm doing on the trainer and the period of time I'm doing it for.

Help please!!!
