My versa 2 is having major issues with sleep tracking. It tracks sleep when not wearing it, and it doesn’t track all sleep when I am. When I fall asleep during the day for maybe an hour or two it doesn’t pick it up. I rebooted it 3 times and also rebooted my phone. I’ve searched all the old topics on this and none were helpful. As far as tracking sleep when not wearing they have said to turn the heart rate detection off which makes no sense. If it can’t detect a heart rate it should know not to track sleep. If it’s detecting a heart rate when you’re not wearing it that’s a major problem!

Thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community, @Sugartown.
I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Versa 2. Thank you for the time you spent trying to get them resolved.
Your device needs at least 3 hours of sleep data to estimate your sleep stages, so you won’t see sleep stages for shorter naps.
When not wearing your Watch please place it upside down with the green lights pointing towards the ceiling. This way, it should stop tracking fake sleep.
If you are sleeping 3 hours or more but see a sleep pattern (time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages (light sleep, deep sleep, and REM), please visit this article, open the menu "Why don't I see sleep stages today?" and follow the instructions.
In addition, you can turn off the heart-rate and turn it back on. This helps to reset the heart-rate sensor. For instructions on how to navigate your Watch, please visit this article.
Hope this helps.
