Versa 2's performance degradation

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought my versa 2 in March, shortly before the versa 3 came out.

At the very beginning, I was very excited and satisfied with this watch but in time its performance has gotten worse and worse to the point where right now I am not really wearing it anymore because it is basically useless.

I don't know if there has been some kind of software update, connected with the introduction of the Versa 3, and maybe I am being subliminally told that I should upgrade or what else, but these are some of the most serious problems that I am experiencing (I am hardly wearing the thing since last week, because it got so bad):

1) you cannot depend on it to come on when you move the arm because you need to see the time. This is one of the features that impressed me the most at the beginning because it worked so well, but now?  Half of the time it does not come on, the screen stays blank (no, I do not want to "always-on display" because I do not want to have to recharge every other day.

Every time I have to see the time I have to move my arm up and down two or three times in order for the thing to come on, to the point where people ask me what I am doing.

2) At random times some of the digits, or icons, or even parts of the screen will go blank. Instead of seeing, for example, 2:05, I see :0  and all I can do is reboot the watch.

3) The watch reboots spontaneously on its own at random times

4) Voice reply to text messages, which is one of the features that I use the most, again worked extremely well early on but has since stopped working almost completely. I press "start" and nothing happens.

There are other issues as well.

At this point, I am wondering if there is some kind of software patch that I need to apply because it seems strange that such a fine watch would all of a sudden forget how to do things that it used to do so well.

Are you using a standard Fitbit clock face? Clock faces can update while charging and may get a fault.

It is possible that recent updates have not been good for the Versa 2, check for other comments in the forum for a pattern.

To eliminate a problem with the Fitbit App try syncing the watch, then turning off the phone's Bluetooth, Shutdown the watch, wait 10 seconds and place it on the charger to restart it and fully charge it, to clear any backlog issues. Then see if it responds better to wrist movement.

Hello, thank you for your suggestions.

Yes, I am using the face that the clock came with, I assume it should work fine at least with this one -- but it does not.

Yes, of course, I have been "checking the forum", I see that a lot of people are reporting issues after the software upgrade but I have not found anything useful -- hence my post.

I have tried the procedure that you recommended, it did not fix anything, the watch continues to have the same issues that I have described.

HI, thanks for the update, unfortunately it seems the only solution then is to wait for a fix from Fitbit in the next firmware update.

You can always talk with Fitbit Support directly but the firmware updates aren't created by them.

Also reachable via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support.
