Versa 2 screen is acting odd

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Tonight my Versa 2 screen started going all wierd with lines and dots across the entire screen, almost completely whiting the screen out, like there's a short in the internal wiring or something. I checked for cracks, any reason for it, don't see anything and I was just sitting on the couch when it started doing this. I did a shutdown, it went back to normal, all functions and screen worked again, but after moving my wrist the screen started going wierd again. I've had it less than a year, how do I get this fixed?

This has been happening to me, too! After about 5 seconds, all the pixels seem to light up - and I can faintly see the time or whatever I was looking at, but it is very difficult.

I haven't had this happen but I am seeing a purple haze coming from the edges of the clock face. I'm wondering if the whole screen will disappear soon?

Hi there @Ltlitaly, welcome on board. I'm sorry to hear about your Versa 2's recent behavior. I appreciate your time and efforts in troubleshooting your watch prior to posting here.

I've seen you got in touch with our Support Team after posting here and they have already helping you to get back on track.

Hello there @CaroJane and @Lmilla, welcome on board. I'm sorry to hear that your watches are also having this behavior. Thanks for trying to solve the inconvenience.

In order for me to better assist you, please confirm that you've followed the steps below:

  1. Check in the Fitbit app if your watch is still syncing, if so, try changing the clock face to a different one by following these steps: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?. The steps are done through the Fitbit app, do not worry if you cannot see anything on the screen for this process.
  2. Please confirm if you've restarted your watch by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Has anyone gotten back to you? I have also tried everything I can Think of and it’s still goofy. It was fine at night, woke up and my phone had done an update and my watch was all wrong. I am getting annoyed to say the least.

This same thing has been happening to my husband's Versa 2, too. Rebooted, reset. Still happening. Also, one of the two green lights is not working on the backside of watch.

Hello,

my versa 2 has the same problem. It seems that the problem started after I updated to the last firmware. I tried to solve the problem:

1. Restart the watch: settings->about->shut down & start over. - the problem doesn't go away.

2. Did 2 factory reset with no effect.

I don't know what to do.

Please help!

Yes, I was lucky and my Versa 2 was still under warranty. They didn't even question the issues it was having really, other than asking if I had tried all the shutdown and restart stuff already. They are sending me a new one. I checked it today and it's still doing the same thing so my guess is mine had a short somewhere. I'm just hoping it doesn't happen with the new one too. It's alot of money to spend on something that goes out in under a year.

Thanks for your reply... I have both tried to change the clock face and restarted my versa.  The screen is still having the same issues.

Hi Farmworker yes, I followed the steps to reboot etc to no avail. Thankfully, my Versa 2 is also still under warranty so fitbit very quickly decided to send me a new one for which I am very grateful as I really love my versa 2. The watch itself is still working although the purple screen is slowly getting bigger and sometimes I have to tap twice to get a reaction. To be clear, some of the problems mentioned here are different but my issue was quite specific.
