Versa 2 screen went blank

My Versa 2 worked just fine last night when I went to bed. I saw the lights working in the early morning hours overnight. I went back to bed, woke up and now nothing. It’s charged to 87% according to app on my phone. About 6 months old and well taken care of. Sounds like a restart worked for others. How do I restart??

Hi there @maed281, welcome on board. Thanks for reporting the issue you're having with your Versa 2's screen, I'm here to help you.

I recommend following @Sylvirgro's suggestion about restarting your watch by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the restart doesn't work and you don't feel a vibration when connecting your watch into the charger, please move on to the troubleshooting steps I shared above:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Why not let the others who are experiencing the same thing know what to do, OR at least tell us we need to contact the Support Team?

Hi there @Nikolette and @Lck1129, thanks for stopping by. I'm sorry to hear you're also having issues with the screen of your Versa smartwatches, I understand where your concern is coming from.

In order for me to better assist you with this, please confirm that you've followed the steps below:

  1. Check in the Fitbit app if your watch is still syncing, if so, try changing the clock face to a different one by following these steps: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?. The steps are done through the Fitbit app, do not worry if you cannot see anything on the screen for this process.
  2. If the step above doesn't work, please restart your watch by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the suggestions don't work and your watch hasn't vibrated when performing the restart, please try these recommendations:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes.

Same thing happened to me about 1.5 hours ago. Everything fine last night. Alarm went off as normal this morning. About half later as I’m about to start exercise main screen is not coming on. Was able to get the credit cards to pop up when I button pushed. Could swipe to get to other screens but exercise wouldn’t connect. Also noticed battery went from 90% when I woke up to 45% in the space of an hour.. Fiddled a bit and checked the app and eventually it started syncing again, not sure what I did but now worried. My Fitbit is 2 months old and I’ve taken great care of it

We are not sure what might have caused this, but we would expect this to be one glitch and I would ask you to keep an eye on your Versa 2. In case this happens again, please let me know and I will be glad to further investigate.

This is spooky: totally me too! Went to bed and it was fine, then got up in the night and noticed the screen was eery bright white.

In the morning it was dead. When I charged it, it just flickered in a horribly epileptic way.

I was upset to think it was broken. I put it on charge by way of resuscitation.

Then five hours later it was back to normal.

What the?!

Can't explain it and I'm nervous that it will happen again.

The screen on my Versa 2 also went black a few minutes ago. Watch wouldn't sync. It was near full charge. Found this page, did a restart, and it appears to be working again. Seems odd that this happened to several people on the same day....
