I have had my versa2 a little over a year before I noticed my side button wasn’t always working.now I have a Shortcut message that won’t go away. So now I cannot even read the time or anything else besides text. We have gone through the tips given and it’s still not working. My versa looks as new as the day I got it, so I don’t understand why this button won’t work. In my family we have owned about 7 Fitbit products. I am really disappointed that it no longer works and of the Fitbit warranty. This seems to be a common problem that I would think Fitbit would fix. Any suggestions, besides buying a new one? Thanks!

Please check carefully the button to make sure its not stuck in, use a magnifying glass and clean with a wooden toothpick gently.
Check it clicks when pressed.
If it does it may just be a recent software update problem.
At this point its probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you, and if they ask you to factory reset and it causes it to fail, hopefully will have the decency to send a replacement one since it won't work.

Curious if you got a resolution to the button problem. I have the same issue with my Versa 2. Only slightly over 1 year old and the side button stopped working. Contacted support but no longer covered under any warranty. I have never abused the Fitbit, not even gotten it wet. I am extremely disappointed that it stopped working correctly after only 1 year. For the price it should last longer.

My Versa 2 is stuck on the Set Up Wallet screen. No functional back button, so cannot get out of it. Button non functional so cannot reset Fitbit either. I looked at app to see if I could reset there but no option. Unless of course there is an update to push. Only way I found to bring it back is to let the battery die, then it will restart when you plug it in to charge. But only if you let it completely die. After you restart "Don't Navigate Anywhere that requires the Back Button" ! Would be nice if there was a way to restart from the app like it does when it takes an update. This would at least allow the countless owners of the Versa 2 experiencing the same button issue.
