Versa 2 text notifications not consistent

I have been using my Versa 2 for a few weeks now, and up until a few days ago the notifications were working fine. I did do the update, but I was still receiving notifications for a few days afterwards. I always have my phone near me, but notice I sometimes get text notifications and then other times I don’t, maybe 50% of the time. It does seem that I get them more when I clear the previous messages from the actual device, but I wouldn’t think that would matter? I restarted both devices, restarted Bluetooth, and even toggled notifications on/off on my actual iPhone. Any other ideas?
