@Elizabethhhcst Welcome to the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply.
I appreciate the details mentioned. In this case, I would like you to restart your Versa 2 and try using the volume buttons again. If you keep experiencing this, please let me know the app you're using to listen to music.
I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Setting up this Versa 2 for music has been incredibly frustrating.
I finally got my music downloaded, my AirPods paired, and after resetting 3-4 times, it finally plays.
Now, I can't adjust the volume. Yes, I see the + and - buttons in the corners. Neither ]holding the button, which does light up, nor tapping on it, give any adjustment at all.
I'm not listening from my phone, this is music downloaded to the watch itself.
Can this be fixed? Restarting several times hasn't worked, so please don't tell me to do that, yet again.
So frustrated...

Thanks for the details mentioned. Currently Fitbit can't control the volume on Apple Airpods. I noticed this has been posted in our Feature Suggestion board here, you may want to vote and comment on it in order to show your support.

I'm sorry, I find it absolutely ludicrous that the Versa 2 will not control volume on AirPods.
Pretty basic stuff in 2020! I was stunned it didn't work and have wasted a lot of time and effort setting up that watch, trying to make it work. You should note that it is NOT AirPod compatible in the description of the Versa 2, so people won't be as frustrated as I (and many others) have been, wasting time and money.
I really liked the watch, other than the music function, which was terrible, besides the lack of AirPod volume control. Unfortunately, that was one of the two main reasons I bought it. I have returned it.

I had this problem too. Turns out the Versa 2 cannot turn down the volume on all headphones. It's ridiculous if you ask me.

what type of ear buds do you need for the fitbit versa volume controls to work? The preset volume is tooooo loud. You will be getting sued for loss of hearing if people listen at this volume. Just saying. what are the recommended type that are affordable??
