Versa 2 won't charge

My Versa 2 was fully charged in the morning and reconnected to Bluetooth as requested by a message. In the evening it went down to 29% in the blink of an eye and would not recharge. All contacts have been cleaned. Multiple sockets tried. Tried to reset it but the symbol came up but would not restart. I am thinking it had something to do with the reconnection as this has happened before with products when asked to do something they all of a sudden fail.
