Versa 2 won't setup

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi, I just bought a Versa 2 yesterday and tried setting up the watch to my Android OS 9, Samsung Galaxy 8 phone (no outstanding software updates), and I am not able to connect. I tried all the suggested avenues but no luck.

- Charged more than 50%

- Restarted Versa 2, by holding down for 10 seconds

- Fitbit App on phone fails to connect via Bluetooth to Versa 2

- I was never able to connect to Versa 2 therefore I did not need to go down the 'forget device' route

- I force stopped Bluetooth via Phone App setting

- I plugged the Versa 2 charger to different wall outlets

- Versa 2 is charging but nothing beyond the many translated texts of 'To start, download the FitBit App'

Please help, thanks!

Hi there @NiraAbigail, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post and for your time and efforts in troubleshooting the setup difficulties you're having with your Versa 2 and your Galaxy 8.

To make sure that your Versa 2 didn't have the chance to even get connected somehow to your Galaxy 8, would you mind checking if your phone's Bluetooth settings does not show your Versa 2 as a connected device? If so, just "forget/unpair" it so we can start from scratch.

Once so, please make sure to set it up as described here: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

If you continue having issues, may I ask if you have any other phone/computer nearby that might have its Bluetooth on? If so, just turn it off while we set up your Versa 2 to your Galaxy 8 to avoid any interference with the Bluetooth connection. For more troubleshooting steps, see: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

How it helps, let me know how it goes.

Hi Maria, thank you for double checking but I did say that the Versa 2 did not even connect to my phone bluetooth in the first place.. so of course, it isn't even 'saved'. There is no 'Versa 2' identified on my Bluetooth screen. Now that that's out of the way, I also turned off my Bluetooth on my Mac which was nearby today, and still no connectivity from the Versa 2 to my phone. I tried connecting via web browser on my Mac afterwards, and I get the 404 message when trying to add a device. It's become very frustrating to set up a watch I have not even used yet... why would I even have an issue from the beginning? Please restore my faith in this device... thanks.

Hi there @NiraAbigail, thanks for getting back and for the details provided.

As our last resource before moving forward, please try performing a Factory Reset on your Versa 2. On your device, open the Settings app > About Factory Reset. Then, try setting it up again.

As I've recommended above, make sure to set it up as described here: How do I set up my Fitbit device? If your continue facing issues, let me know if you've attempted every single steps from this help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

I'm here to help, keep me posted.

Hi, none of the options communicated seemed to have helped, however I was
able to connect to my Versa 2 by re-installing the FitBit app.

Thank you,
Nira Logan
