Versa 2 won't sync to track exercise

If I start tracking an exercise using the Fitbit app on my phone (iPhone 8 ) it does not start it on my watch. I have to also start tracking my run on my versa separately. I do not have gps on my versa and as such both the app on my phone and the data on my watch are needed to get an accurate representation of my run. Instead of talking to each other, it tracks them as two separate workouts. Both show up in my workout log so I know the Versa is connecting to the app and sharing the data.

Is there a way to get the app to talk to the watch again so when I start a workout on my phone it also shows up on my versa screen?

Hi @bawssmommy678. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for the information provided and your efforts while trying to track your GPS exercise correctly. Before anything else, let me clarify that you can track your GPS workouts using either your Versa 2 or the MobileRun function on the Fitbit app, however if you use both of them at the same time, you'll get two separate logs for the same exercise. That being said, I'd recommend to try the following to get your watch connected to the Fitbit app and track your GPS data from there:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and forget the Versa 2 from the list.
  2. Go to your phone's settings and set the location services to Always, as well turn on the Background App Refresh.
  3. Restart your watch and reboot your phone.
  4. Open the Fitbit app and sync your watch.
  5. Go to the Exercise app on your Versa 2 and track your run one more time. Make sure to leave the Fitbit app running in the background so it can maintain the connection between your watch and your phone.

Keep me posted.
