Hi people
I just got my versa 2 today and was super excited to set it up. During setup I already had some hiccups, where I had to restart my phone multiple times to get the phone connected to the versa. But once that was done, I thought I was good to go - turned out I wasn't. 😞 I noticed the phone would not sync with the device at all. I went through all the troubleshooting steps:
- Turned Bluetooth on/off
- Restarted the phone
- Restarted the device
- Tried to pair them new
Once I removed the Bluetooth pairing, it seemed impossible to reconnect them until I put the versa back to default and then started everything from scratch. Now, that worked (yay) but again, once everything is set up, the phone won't sync. I've spent two hours googling around and trying to find a solution, and I've tried everything.
I can ensure you that:
- My phone software is updated
- I use the newest version of the app
- I have never previously owned a fitbit, and I have no other smartwatch still in the Bluetooth pairing
I have to shamefully add though, that before purchasing I only checked the requirements for android (7.0 or higher - check!) but didn't stumble across the supportes phones list until I looked for a solution to my connectivity problems. My phone is NOT on that list. I have a Galaxy J5. While I know this is a bit on the antique side, it has worked with smartwatches from other big competitors no problem. I would be heartbroken having to send the versa back simply because my phone is too old. Is there anyone that has any other possible solution for me?
Thanks a bunch!
P.S.: English isn't my first (or second) language so my sincere apologies for butchering your language.

It’s not just you. I’ve had my Versa 2 for a while & It’s been acting up for the past week or so. I hope they get it fixed ASAP!

Hearing it might be simply a bug in the app or something is relieving. I'll be patient then and hope it'll shake itself out. Thank you, Kgillis! Hope you'll have a nice evening (or whatever time it is where you are in the world)

It seems like syncing is a particular problem with the fitbit and the android app. It's not that much of a show-stopper, unless you really want the phone notifications on the watch.
Mine won't sync right now, but the app claims that it synced half an hour ago, when the app wasn't even on. I went to the FitBit application on my laptop and it syncd right away.
It's actually the first time I've checked in weeks, and only because of reading your question. I don't think it actually matters except for the notifications. It still connects to the phone's GPS, records the run, uploads it to Strava, updates the PC app when I open it. Weather works, music works, the watch keeps its data straight for exercise, sleep etc, notifies my phone when it's charged, all when the watch may or may not be "syncing" with the phone app. So I don't even worry about it any more.
I know, it would be better if it worked like it should, every time without a hassle. And I would like to get all of my texts on the watch, like a normal smartwatch does. I wish FitBit would fix their app, But for strictly the exercise functions it's not worth the time and turmoil of making sure it's always connected in the app.
