Versa 2 won't turn on

Hi there just got a Versa 2 today

Turned up put it on charge asap.

Been charging all day and still not full is this normal? 

And will it not turn on until fully charged. Cant turn it on at all. Just says download Fitbit app to continue. 

And it wont connect to phone.

Any help much appreciated.
