Versa 2 won't charge

I have a versa 2 that won't charge or turn on. By reading posts I  feel like this is a reoccurring issue. Has anyone found any solutions that work?

You won't be able to turn it on if the battery is flat.

So a couple of things:

Make sure you are using the Versa 2 charger, similar to the Versa charger but not compatible.

Try plugging the charger cable into a PC and then adding the watch.

If all is well it should issue a connection sound.

After 2 hours try syncing with the phone [as if its on]. If it syncs correctly there is a problem with the display.

This may have been caused by a firmware update as others report this problem.

They said my warranty is expired and offered a discount on a new one this
one is not that old to drop more money on a new one that may do the same
thing. Hoping for a solution.

Thanks for your reply @Jcline

I'm sorry for any inconvenience and please note that any feedback posted in the forums is always welcome as it helps to improve our products, services and overall environment.

If your original device is no longer under warranty a discount could be an available option but some conditions and requirements should be met. For more information about our warranty policy, I recommend visiting the following link: https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/legal/returns-and-warranty

Oh man, have only had mine for 2 months and am already having this issue…pretty sure it’s still under warranty, but hope this isn’t a recurring problem….kinda wishing id spent the extra money for an Apple Watch 😱

Ironically after much debate on what to do next. I found a charger in my car that looked different than the ones I had tried. The more shallow charger worked perfectly so apparently the 2 that I bought were not versa 2 chargers, even though they were packaged as versa 2

I am having the same problem. Unable to charge and unable to sync. No Clock face will display. Unable to force restart, screen displays a Big Red X and states “data not cleared-Sync and try again”. Watch and charger are not even a year old so I don’t understand what the problem is.

Hi there @Jcline and @TamTams. Welcome to the Community Forums @CollDoll62

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and also for the details that you shared on your post. @CollDoll62 upon checking with our Support team, I was told that you have already contacted them and the replacement was already sent, so I hope you are able to get it as soon as possible.

@Jcline I'm glad to hear that you were able to find the original charging cable for the Versa 2, I'm sorry for the inconveniences with the 2 extra charging cables that you bought.

@TamTams If your Fitbit Versa 2 is still showing the red X, I recommend doing the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab and tap your profile picture
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.
  4. If you are having trouble to set up the device again, please see Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.
