Versa 3 AOD Style

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just got a Versa 3 after using a Fitbit Alta every day for 5 years (still works great!).

I want my AOD to have a simple small clock, nothing else. When I'm in the settings menu and the screen times out, I get the exact AOD that I want (pictured left)--a simple, small clock. But when I'm on my regular watch face and it times out, I get this clunky AOD that I hate (pictured right). I've tried a bunch of different (free) watch faces that I like, and the AOD is always the same design that I don't like.

How do I make the Versa 3 show me the simple AOD, no matter where it times out from?

On the watch go to Settings, click on Display and Screen Wake set to manual. Then you will only have the AOD clock unless you push the button.

Hi Guy_,

as far as I know this is not the case. You indeed get a watch face, either analog  or  digital, but not this simple watch face.

The photo on the left is the special Settings menu timeout clock face when you have AOD enabled [either Analog or digital], its in settings mode only.

The photo on the right is the AOD digital clock face in normal clock mode, regardless of watch face chosen.

The short answer is the builtin AOD [analog or digital] is not for you.

Thanks Guy_,

It's a pity. And a bit of a 'carrot': why showing this to us if you can't get it.

But, it is what it is. I have already found another AOD clockface with a AOD face I like.

I totally agree that the Fitbit designer team should definitely work on the picture and logos when the watch is turned on. Now it looks a little ridiculous and inconvenient. I work as a graphic designer and I understand that sometimes it is difficult to come up with something worthwhile and at the same time understandable for the consumer. But this is our job and we must listen to our customers' feedback.

Hi @AnaS. - what are you not able to get?

I would like to use the AOD that has the small time on the left side as the default AOD. As the OP here said.

Or at least be able to remove all the other stuff in the AOD display that I don't need to see all the time.

@AnaS.- the only way to achieve it for more than a few minutes [in Settings mode] is via a clock face or app.

As an example without AOD enabled, have a look at the SimpleFloors, push the button to make it sleep, is that more or less what you want? It shows simple time and floors only.

When it's not displaying just the time in battery save mode, what would you want to see?

Although not exactly the total answer you could also try the SimpleAOD clock face.

Your SimpleAOD is exactly what I want to see as an AOD, but with any watchface I select! Thanks for sending the link 🤗

Maybe an App to override the Fitbit AOD code would work.

@AnaS.  -  thanks, that's the best I could do quickly.

You could always contact the developer of the clock face you use and get them to incorporate that processing, or change to another clock face, but it would only work while using that clock face - the moment you use something else [exercise or app] you are back to the standard AOD,

It should be noted that the AOD uses more battery and unless it's a necessity for you may be a different approach could be better.

@AnaS.- the SimpleAOD clock face is now published and has a double tap to change the size and intensity in order to offer a discrete Always On clock for anyone who wants one.

It could replace a traditional clock face for anyone configuring the swipe up [today widget] info to personal requirements.

Guy_  you are amazing!!!! kickass job! I really like the SimpleAOD clockface. Thank you!

Can you please make a version of your SimpleSecretary Clockface with the SimpleAOD face functioning as its actual AOD? That is exactly what i want and i think it would be an absolute hit!

I would really appreciate it.

OP you might look into ChronoTap and ChronoBasic clockfaces. Those are the two best AOD + clockface combos ive found.
