Versa 3 battery draining quickly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa 3 battery has always lasted 6 or more days on a charge. Suddenly it is dying completely after 6 hours. Overnight i got an email saying the battery was low. When I put in back in the charger it is black at first and then shows a big red 0%. But then after about only 45 minutes it is fully charged. But then goes dead again in 6 or less hours. Nothing has changed on how I use the watch. To me it seems the battery can no longer hold a charge. It looks like I can buy a replacement on Amazon but I also saw a post saying you cannot change the battery. What can I do?

Hi there, @Magellan44. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 3. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you with this!

As a first approach, I'd like to ask if by any chance you're using snore detection? Please note that the Snore Detection feature does impact your device’s battery, so we recommend charging your device to at least 40% before going to bed. For more information, see How can I use my Fitbit device to detect snoring and noise levels while I sleep?

However, as you know, the battery life will depend on how frequent certain features are used in general. In addition to the features you've mentioned, are you perhaps using an Always-On Display clock face? If so, I'd recommend changing the clock face to another one made by Fitbit and monitor its behavior the next couple of days.  Additionally, try turning off this setting by opening the Settings app on your watch > Display > Always-on display.

Hi Maria,

No, not using the snore detection and not using an Always on clock face. This is my third fitbit and second Versa 3. This one was purchased in January of 2023 and has been working fine. It just suddenly stopped holding a charge 2 days ago. Before that it consistently held a charge with my usage for 6 days on average. The fact that it goes to zero charge very quickly and then when you charge it, it charges to full very fast would indicate that it is a battery issue in my opinion.

Can you answer my question about replacing the battery? At the moment the fitbit is pretty much useless and just 14 months old.
