Yes: I have searched & read prior articles.
Yes: I have tried the steps outlined with one notable exception---what are the 3 buttons referenced to reset it? There's the little inset dash on the left-side (face-up) that's used to do stuff. But where are the other two? If someone could provide an image with the locations annotated, that would be greatly appreciated.

Sad to hear that your Versa 3 isn't working as expected.
It was the original Versa who had three buttons. Your device as all later Versa models only has one button. On the Versa 3 it's that little inset dash on the left-side you've mentioned. If you'd like to restart your device you would have to keep this "virtual button" pressed for around 10 seconds until you'd see the Fitbit logo on the device's display.
As there is a chance that your Versa 3's battery simply is completely drained, I'd suggest trying to give it a full charge as a first approach to hopefully get things fixed. If it won't charge, please have a closer look here for possible troubleshooting:

Please pay special attention that the charging contacts on the back of your device are clean. In doubt give it a careful cleaning as described here:

Hi, @Gehanii - also check this link, if your watch was behaving normally.
